Frisini Motorsports Debuts 390 Center Console with Killer Paint
Powered by three 350-hp engines, the new stepped 39-footer features unique paint job.
FORT PIERCE, FLA. (Aug. 14) — Proof that Frisini Motorsports has been extremely busy this year, the company released its third new model in four months when it delivered its first 390 center console to a customer in Massachusetts last week.
Along with triple 350-hp engines bolted to the transom and a full line of fishing friendly equipment and electronics, the all-new 390 features an eye-catching paint job commissioned by notable airbrush artist Mike Lavallee of Killer Paint in Snohomish, Wash. Complete with a unique gray synthetic teak floor, a fully finished cabin and high-grade interior seating from Premier Performance Interiors, the 39-footer with a 10-foot beam offers lots of creature comforts and excellent performance right out of the box.
“We build all of our boats for the customer’s tastes, and that includes our latest center console,” said Tony Frisina, president of Frisini Motorsports, the parent company behind the Frisini and Sonic Boats brands. “We listened to the way the customer was going to use the boat and addressed his needs. It was built for a performance boater but we also put electric downriggers on the boat so he could do some serious fishing.”
Available with twin or triple outboard engines from Mercury Racing, the 39-foot stepped V-bottom has a hull built to handle offshore conditions while maximizing fuel efficiency. The boat’s cockpit, which includes three bolster-style seats in the rear, a pair for the driver and co-pilot, a lounge ahead of the console and two jump seats on each side of the cabin door, can be configured in a variety ways. The first model has a roomy cabin up front with a V-berth, a hidden electric anchor windlass system, a fully equipped console, well-padded gunwales and LED lighting along each side of the cockpit.
“Overall this 390 was an interesting build,” said Frisina, who reported that the boat topped 70 mph its first time out and still has more in it. “With three Mercury Racing Verado 350SCi engines, the boat has plenty of power. And Mike Lavelle’s air brushing put the boat over the top. It was a big plus for him to fly out to our factory and do that. I’m proud that we’ve built something that looks really cool and performs really well.”
Starting from an all-black gelcoat base, Lavallee created what he called “a skeleton game fish theme,” with his innovative True Fire® effect—the realistic-looking fire style he’s painted on everything from helicopters and hot rods to guitars and motorcycles.
“I had a lot of fun painting the 39-foot center console,” said Lavallee, who is best known for his realistic flames, although he also specializes in portraits, murals and more. “I’ve only painted a few boats, but I’d love to paint more because they provide plenty of acreage to work with. Because of the fish and the blue flames, this one was pretty special. I came up with a few ideas, but we decided to go with the marlin skeleton. I like it. I think it’s very unique.”

New Models Fuel Increased Frisini Production
New Models Fuel Increased Frisini Motorsports’ Production
Leading the charge is Frisini’s 110-mph 38 Hypersonic with a new five-step bottom
FORT PIERCE, FLA. (June 14) — After receiving excellent reviews with the debut of its SCX 43 offshore catamaran at the Desert Storm Poker Run in Lake Havasu City, Ariz., Frisini Motorsports announces a few new additions to its lineup to complement a rapidly filling production schedule for 2012.
“Our trip to Lake Havasu was fun, eventful and eye-opening,” said Tony Frisina, president of Frisini Motorsports, the parent company behind the Frisini, Sonic Boats and Spectre Powerboats brands. “Now it’s time to focus on building boats. We’ve delivered four 32-foot cats in the past month, we’ve launched some new models and we’re tooling other new ones. We’ve never been busier.
“We recently finished our 38 Hypersonic, which was designed with performance and functionality in mind,” Frisina continued. “We put a lot of effort into testing, and we’re excited to report that with a pair of Mercury Racing HP700SCi engines, the 38 runs an unprecedented 110 mph. We’re proud of that considering it is loaded with amenities for the whole family.”
Featuring a redesigned five-step bottom, the 38-footer has a deep and spacious cockpit with seating for five and a cabin that offers more than 6 feet of headroom (the most in its class), air conditioning and a full head compartment with a stand-up shower. Grafik EFX completed the boat’s custom paint job and Fine Line Interiors handled the beautiful upholstery. Proud owners Jeff and Linda Raley, of Tennessee, recently took delivery of the 38 Hypersonic and couldn’t be happier with the powerful V-bottom.
Another model nearing completion from Frisini is the all-new 390 Center Console, which will feature a variety of configurations and a new stepped bottom to give it better performance and handling than most conventional center console boats.
“I’ve always wanted to build a bigger center console—we’re planning to take it to the next level with the 390,” Frisina said. “We’re expecting to be able to push this boat with twin outboards. We know the triple-engine configuration will probably be most popular, but if we can get it to run well with twin engines rather than triples, we’re passing along a great savings to our customer in terms of fuel economy and cost of the boat.”
Frisina, who has learned a lot about the boat business since starting the Fort Pierce, Fla., company in 2010, explained that he wants to build boats with the consumer in mind. “Building a boat for the customer’s actual needs is an aspect that I don’t think many people in the industry are paying attention to, in all honesty,” he said. “We want to make that our priority.”
Frisina also confirmed that the company is tooling a new 36-foot catamaran to accompany its popular SC 32 models and the all-new SCX 43. He expects the model to be finished early next year.
“The best thing is all of these new boats we’re coming out with are sold boats,” Frisina said. “I’m not building these boats hoping that someone is going to buy them. Our customers believe in us and that we do what we say we’re going to do.”

Frisini Goes Big for Desert Storm With New 43 SCX
Frisini Motorsports Goes Big for Desert Storm With New 43 SCX
Company’s all-new 43-foot catamaran set to be unveiled at Desert Storm Poker Run.
FORT PIERCE, FLA. (April 20) — Currently making its way across the country is the highly anticipated SCX 43 from Frisini Motorsports. Its destination: Lake Havasu City, Ariz., and the 2012 Desert Storm Poker Run, where it’s being delivered to its owner, Dr. Gabriele Jasper of New Jersey.
The stunning custom-built catamaran—Frisini’s largest model at 42 feet, 8 inches with an 11-foot, 8-inch beam—left the company’s Fort Pierce, Fla., facility this week and will be on display at the event’s Open House at Oregon Custom Marine on Wednesday, April 25, and at the Street Party on Thursday.
Then Jasper, who flew to Florida for a brief water test with TNT Custom Marine’s John Tomlinson before the boat was wrapped for delivery to Lake Havasu, will take part in the poker run on Friday with a handful of other company models, including the new 30 Vendetta Open Bow V-bottom. The Frisini SCX 43, dubbed Pain Killer, is powered by a pair of Mercury Racing 1350 QC4v engines and M8 drives.
“We are very proud of our latest offering in the SCX 43—performance and handling are exactly as we predicted—and the owner is thrilled, which is most important to me,” said Tony Frisina, president of Frisini Motorsports, the parent company behind Sonic Boats and Spectre Powerboats. “We’ve engineered much of this boat to make it stand out from the rest and offer a different style of boating—one that combines the finest aspects of performance and pleasure.”
Concept, design and styled by Grafik EFX owner Chris Dilling with input from Frisina, the SCX 43 features sleek lines, aggressive styling and a substantial cockpit unlike anything on the water.
“The idea behind the boat was to build an offshore catamaran that you can comfortably run around in all day thanks to the spaciousness of the cockpit and cabin,” said Dilling, adding that the seven-person cockpit is a full 11 feet by 8 feet. “The goal is to have a boat that can cruise at 100 mph at its most efficient point but still break 150 mph.”
Set up with the driver’s position in the center of a three-bucket arrangement, the dash panels to the left and right are equipped with Garmin GPSMAP 7215 displays. Controls are mounted on each side of the middle bucket and a pair of Livorsi Marine tachometers flanks the tilt steering wheel and Mercury SmartCraft display.
Behind the outside front buckets are the exclusive cabin entrance “pods.” Jasper opted to convert the port-side entryway into a beverage storage/refrigerator/accessory charging station. The starboard-side entrance provides easy access to the cabin below deck that includes a head compartment and a bed. By devoting additional space for the pods in the cockpit, there is more room to move about the boat. The pods also include “conversation seating” to bring passengers together at idle speed.
The gorgeous tan, red and cream upholstery from Fine Line Interiors complements the flawless paint job, and the all-in-one armrests/handles between the four rear bucket seats are uniquely designed. The boat’s primary red and titanium silver paint job gives it an aggressive appearance, as does the forward-raked windshield pillars that support the crystal-clear 3/4-inch thick windshield provided by Aero Marine. All of the custom metal fabrication was completed by Wallaby’s Fabrications.
Along with a generous 380-gallon fuel capacity, the boat was designed with aerodynamic recessed air intake vents, sun pads flush-mounted to the dual engine hatches and gull-wing-style locking deck hatches that make loading and unloading gear easy from the dock. The SCX 43 is built using the most modern materials and includes engineering and lamination schedules designed to compensate for the elimination of bulkheads in the cabin and hallway areas.
